Writing on a SMART Board Using a Document Camera

A lot of teacher’s want to write on their SMART Board while using their non SMART brand document camera.

If you would like to do so, follow these simple steps. (Get Google Doc Directions)

  1. Turn on SMART Notebook application.
  2. Click the View Screens menu on the toolbar and choose Transparent Background.
  3. Locate the icon for your document camera software: ImageMate (Elmo brand) ArcSoft (Epson brand)
  4. If you are using an Elmo document camera just maximize your screen.
  5. If you are using an Epson document camera, press the capture button and press the full screen button.
  6. Now, you will be able to write/draw with your SMART Board on top of your projected document.

Notes:

 

  • If you do not see a floating toolbar, you won’t be able to write on the SMART Board, please turn off full screen and turn it back on again. This should fix this for you.
